My only hope for this character is that the relationship he has with Jyn doesnвЂ™t develop into some forced and cheesy love story that will take away from the story. We are then introduced to our second lead, Captain Cassian Andor, as he offers his help to Jyn to steal the plans for the Death Star.

The second piece of dialogue we get in this trailer is вЂњ Can you be trusted without your shackles?вЂќ It is directed at Jyn, which makes it much more interesting since in the previous Rogue One trailer we saw here in an Imperial uniform with Saw asking her вЂњ What will you become?вЂќ Is Jyn a prisoner of the Rebel Alliance? Could the question asked by Saw be the heart of the movie, that is, whether or not Jyn will choose to help the Rebels or the Empire? If it is, it will add a lot more depth to a movie with a seemingly simple premise and goal. ItвЂ™s almost like itвЂ™s just waiting for an order to blow everything beneath it away. The next (entirely epic) shot shows a Star Destroyer just chilling over a planet.

Certainly not one of the most reassuring statements you can say to open up a trailer, but it does inject a lot of anticipation into the viewer. Saw Gerrara, played by Forest Whitaker, tells our hero that the world is coming undone. The trailer opens up with an ominous city skyline shot with a couple of ever-annoying TI E fighters flying over it and even more ominous music. Will we see another one in episode 8? Time will tell. A strong female lead seems to be the new trend for the Star Wars films. Leading the pack is a character that weвЂ™ve never seen before: Jyn Erso. The Rebel Alliance needs to steal the plans for a new super weapon designed by the Empire known as the Death Star. The story, or at least the projected one, is simple. The standalone soundtrack is memorable, both for its hints at nostalgia and its newness. Now, when I think of Star Wars, I also think of music from Rogue One: JynвЂ™s oft-repeated refrain the вЂњImperial Suite вЂќ and the lilting вЂњGuardians of the WhillsвЂќ melody.
